Identifying Short-Side Momentum Setups in HLE Glascoat, Rhetan TMT, and Identical Brain

HLE Glascoat dropped 9.25% to ₹379.60, Rhetan TMT fell 5.72% to ₹27.35, and Identical Brain slid 3.79% to ₹17.00 on August 10, per TradingView's momentum screen. All three closed below their 30- and 50-day simple moving averages, and the price action is a clean execution trigger for short-side momentum traders. If you scalp breakouts, this is the structural setup you wait for — names rotating from strength to distribution, with the moving averages now acting as overhead supply.

Mapping the SMA stack

The first read is the average relationship. Check each name against its 30, 50, 150, and 200-day SMAs to see which averages the price has already lost and which are still holding as potential resistance.

HLE Glascoat trades below its 30-day SMA (₹418.31), 50-day SMA (₹401.38), and 200-day SMA (₹394.68), but still above the 150-day SMA at ₹361.87. Read: the short-term structure is broken, but the 150-day has not been tested. That 150-day becomes the make-or-break level. A clean loss there opens the path to deeper liquidity; a reclaim kills the short thesis.

Rhetan TMT closed below its 30-day SMA (₹29.01) and 50-day SMA (₹29.13), but above the 150-day (₹27.10) and 200-day (₹26.18). Mixed momentum. The shorter timeframe is weak, the longer timeframe is intact. Treat this as a fade, not a breakdown play.

Identical Brain is the cleanest of the three. It sits below all four SMAs — 30-day (₹17.67), 50-day (₹17.89), 150-day (₹19.54), and 200-day (₹24.05). Every moving average is overhead resistance. That kind of stacking crushes weak bounce attempts.

Execution framework

If you are trading against the trend, the 30-day SMA is your first invalidation level. A sustained back-above that line tells you sellers failed and you exit. Do not average down on a name still grappling with overhead supply.

Watch the order flow at the moving averages. Absorption at the 50-day SMA — bids drying up, price stalling — is the entry trigger. If the bid-ask spread widens and the level gives way on declining volume, you do not have conviction. You have noise.

Size small on these names. Thin liquidity punishes on the exit, and a single block order can invert the tape. Half your usual position is the rule.

What to track next

HLE Glascoat at the 150-day SMA is the line. A decisive loss sets up the next leg lower. Rhetan TMT needs to either reclaim the 50-day SMA or lose the 200-day — between those two levels, the trade lacks a trigger. Identical Brain has no nearby support, so the question is whether fresh buyers step in at all.

Trade the structure, not the headline. The averages have already told you who is in control.
